Background of the Distiller
The Martell family has been distilling cognac for over 300 years, and is one of the most prestigious cognac houses in the world. The L’Or de Jean Martell was created in 1982 to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Martell family business.
Tasting Notes
Martell L’Or de Jean Martell has a deep amber colour with hints of shimmering mahogany. The nose is complex and inviting, with notes of bergamot, orange peel, dark berries, gingerbread, clove, and cinnamon. The palate is silky smooth and subtle at first, with flavours of blackcurrant, woodland undergrowth, and gingerbread. The finish is long and lingering, with hints of vanilla and spice.
